1 Thessalonians

Paul’s first letter to the believers in Thessalonica was written as an encouragement as they were grieving over some deaths in the church, and they might have also been discouraged at the persecution Paul and his companions faced. He reminds them of the hope they have in Christ, who has conquered death and will return again to claim his church. Though persecution and death are realities all Christians will face, we can look forward to the “Day of the Lord,” where He will return to judge the living and the dead, and whether we are dead or alive at the time of his coming, all believers will be joined with him in resurrected bodies.
