Colossians clearly shows the supremacy of Christ over all things, as the authority over all people, traditions and philosophies. Paul wrote this letter to strengthen the church against attacks from false teachings, particularly pertaining to rules about earthly rituals such as eating and drinking. Paul explains that it is far better to focus on heavenly things, living out of our new identity in Christ and walking in a manner worthy of Him.
