Hosea was commanded to marry a prostitute in order to personally experience love for an unfaithful woman. Hosea’s marriage is an allegory of God’s love for an adulterous people; a love that tolerates no rival. Hosea then brought this complaint against God’s people and warned of punishment unless they returned to Him.
