Joel was a prophet that warned of the “Day of the Lord,” a time the Israelites looked forward to as a judgment for the nations. Joel explained that this day would be a day of judgment for Israel also, and urged everyone to repent of their unfaithfulness. He also foretold a time when God would “Pour out His spirit on all flesh,” which was fulfilled at Pentecost.
