Jonah
This is the fascinating famous tale of Jonah the prophet, who spent three days and nights in the belly of a giant fish. Unlike other prophetic books emphasizing God’s message to His people, this book is about the prophet himself, as Jonah defied God’s direct orders to prophesy to a people that he hated. The final line of the book ends with a question, suggesting that God is not only asking Jonah to consider how His mercy and forgiveness extend to all people who would repent, but that He is also asking us to do the same.
