The shortest book in the Old Testament, Obadiah wrote of the destruction of the nation of Edom, for their betrayal of their Jewish brothers. The Edomites descended from Esau, and therefore should have helped the Israelites. Obadiah prophesied that they would be repaid for mistreating God’s people, and that the house of Jacob would be restored because of His covenant and love for His people.
