The book of Romans is the most systematic and logically reasoned of all of Paul’s letters, containing the clearest and fullest explanations of sin and grace found in the Bible. Never having been to Rome, Paul writes a unique letter that isn’t addressing any specific issues in the church, but is rather making a theological case for the Gospel, which “is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” (1:16). The church in Rome was well known, and it appeared to be made of mature believers who Paul also saw fit to help him further his mission. It is a challenging and deeply theological book that will no doubt encourage and strengthen the faith of all believers.
